Why
The Reconnections Project was born out of the need to build bridges where we have historically built trenches. In the modern age, our lives are increasingly disconnected and segmented. The work we do often reflects practicalities -- funding, resources, what "looks good" -- rather than our true beliefs and vision. We spend most of our lives disconnected from our true purpose, from our desire to make real changes at a systemic level.
Instead, we feel disillusioned, isolated, and trapped. Instead of uniting around our commonalities to fight those with all the power, we allow our differences to make us enemies. All while competing for scraps of funding.
We have lost touch with the ways we are connected, not only to each other, but to our purpose, to our beliefs, to the planet we live in, and to the animals we share it with.

How
Reconnections is here to create spaces and opportunities to reconnect, so that we can achieve the world that we don’t just want, but the world that we need to thrive.
In addition to providing free guidance and tools through this website, we offer a range of consultancy services to support organisations, individuals, and the public sector Reconnect with their purpose and think strategically. This includes:
Help with understanding your impact and thinking strategically how you can grow and develop to not only increase your impact but ensure it aligns with your mission.
Think strategically about how your work and mission line up, by creating and applying a clear Theory of Change and taking a step back to think critically.
Conducting vital research to help foster growth and learning.
Facilitating conversations and events to help create environments for learning and change.
Hosting trainings in a range of topics, including in helping you understand how to monitor your own impact.

Who
This work is done by me, Dr. Trent Grassian. I have always been passionate about making a real difference in the world and I never stop thinking critically about how impact can be increased and how real, systemic change can happen.
I have been working in the public sector for 20 years, including 10 years as a researcher and evaluator. In the Senior Leadership Team for national charities, I led on impact assessment, research, and training. I have used my extensive experience across a wide range of sectors to think about the bigger picture and love finding creative ways to think strategically and understand what impact organisations are having and how this fits in with their greater purpose.
